Carter's Surgery

WE SURVIVED!!! Carter has had a cyst on his left cheek for over a year; we saw a dermatologist last December and he told us that the cyst would have to be surgically removed. Yikes! So today was the day. Carter's surgery was about 1 1/2 hours long, and then it took about an hour for him to come out of anesthesia. The cyst was about the size of a nickel (seriously!) and THICK! Even the Dr. thought it was big - especially on a little face. The Dr. pushed in some fat from Carter's cheek to fill in the hole, and hopefully the scar will be pretty small. What an experience for a 3-year-old! Thank you, Nana, for coming to be with Jefferson. And thank you, Jefferson, for being such a kind, sweet, understanding big brother. We're glad to be home!

Holy cow - poor kiddo! Seriously just had tears form in my eyes seeing you snuggle with him in the hospital. What a rough experience for all of you!
